Hello, welcome to my website! As long as I can remember, I
have always been interested in art. My father was a draftsman,
and he set up an old drawing board in our basement at home.
That was where I set up my first "studio". Sunday afternoons were
spent experimenting with different types of paint and pencils, as I
faithfully poured over every "how to draw" book that I could get my
hands on. In college, I discovered the world of art history and
different genres of painting styles. Folk art, in particular, became
an important part of my artistic journey. I have found it to be a very
expressive style in which I can convey feelings that are important
to me, both personally and artistically. Technical correctness is
often less imprtant than the message I am trying to share with my
audience. For example, in a painting emphasizing the importance
of home and family, the family may be almost as large as the
house. In a realistic painting, this would look out of place. But in
folk art, it just helps show the importance of the family. I hope you
enjoy viewing my artwork as much as I enjoy creating it!
